| Chinatown Cultural Development Strategy
The DC Office of Planning (OP), in partnership with the DC Office of Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (OAPIA), is undertaking a Cultural Development Strategy for DC’s Chinatown. The project will provide strategies to help reposition Chinatown as the region’s top destination for Chinese / Asian cultural businesses, programs, services, events and festivals. Further, the cultural project will:

Raise awareness and coordination of cultural programs, services, and events;

Ensure a harmonized approach to the branding and marketing of Chinatown as a destination;

Develop new, innovative, and effective ways to attract visitors to Chinatown;

Attract entrepreneurs and cultural economic development;

Enhance urban design to further articulate Chinese / Asian character; and
-
Guide the community, policy-makers, planners, and private sector stakeholders in sustaining Chinatown as an attractive destination.
