Howard Ways
Special Assistant
Howard has over 13 years of planning and real estate development experience, working in such cities as Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, DC. Prior to joining the DC Office of Planning in 2000, Howard developed affordable housing in Baltimore and has managed over $96 million of real estate and public facilities projects. As a Special Assistant to the Director of the DC Office of Planning, Howard works on various green initiatives, including Green Collar Jobs. He is also leading the planning effort on reuse of excess school facility space. He has a Master's Degree in City and Regional Planning from Morgan State University and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Temple University. Howard attended the John F. Kennedy School for Government's Senior, State and Local Government Officials Program in 2006. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Urban Studies Program at the University of the District of Columbia.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and the American Planning Association.
