The District of Columbia's Office of Planning is initiating a community planning process with area stakeholders (including residents, ANC1D, neighborhood organizations, Council staff, businesses, property owners, institutions and government agencies) to develop a strategic revitalization strategy for the Mount Pleasant Street corridor. The study area includes Mount Pleasant Street from Park Road to the north down to Hobart Street to the south, as well as Lamont Street, Park Road, and Irving Street from 16th Street to Mount Pleasant Street.
The objective of this revitalization plan is to create a more vibrant commercial district by strengthening the commercial corridor’s economic climate, creating a sense of place that can be enjoyed by all residents of the Mount Pleasant neighborhood and helping to determine development opportunities for potentially underutilized sites.
