John Moore Community Planner
John Moore's duties in the Development Review Division include comprehensive planning and zoning analysis, land use recommendations, and report preparation for the long-range planning unit. He has over 23 years of experience as a graphic production technician and a professional planner with the District government. He administered the District's first development zones program to draw businesses east of the Anacostia River, increase home ownership, provide jobs and training, and create employment centers.
Mr. Moore administered a $15 million capital improvement program and co-founded the District of Columbia Early Child Care Collaborative, a public/private partnership, to provide early childcare and family support services to families in distressed communities. He has a bachelor's degree in urban studies from Federal City College and has completed over 40 hours of a master's program in urban and regional planning at the University of the District of Columbia. |
